Once again, IDC has achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification for both the UK and China offices, following a thorough audit by BSI. This highlights IDC’s commitment to best practice in design and development.
Unlike many consultancies who work purely on the design side, the ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 accreditation covers the entire development process at IDC. This is made possible as IDC’s design studio in China and IDC Models are also accredited, meaning that quality standards can be met as the product moves through the development from design to prototyping and production. As a result, IDC can provide a level of quality assurance that is almost unique amongst competitors.
IDC has developed its own design process over the last 45 years and this analytical approach to design has proved highly successful, particularly for medical products. The process enables the team to identify risks and respond to any potential challenges, consider regulatory aspects at all stages and guide clients through the development to a successful outcome. In a recent survey, IDC found that over 92% of their product developments had gone on to achieve commercial success.
