IDC is delighted with feedback from its Sustainable Design Seminar which took place on Wednesday (October 22nd) at the Royal Institution in London. The event was organised in partnership with Brunel University Co-Innovate, with a guest speaker from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), and attracted an audience from a wide variety of industries, all keen to learn more about the business benefits of sustainability.
As a leader in sustainable innovation, IDC’s seminar aimed to equip delegates with a thorough understanding of the key issues surrounding sustainable product design and support them in formulating strategies and actions to help their own products become more sustainable.
IDC talked about its own experience of sustainable product development and the benefit of having lifecycle analysis and sustainability as a fully integrated part of the design process. Jaguar Land Rover also formed a key part of the seminar; providing a fascinating insight into JLR’s development process and their commitment to reducing the impact of new vehicles across the whole life-cycle and how rapid LCA tools (developed with IDC) are helping their vast engineering team achieve this.
IDC’s MD, Stephen Knowles, comments, “Following the success of our latest Sustainable Design Seminar, we will soon be launching a full programme of events to help companies benefit from a more sustainable approach to product development. We will also be offering in-house training and support to companies who are keen to make sustainability a fully integrated part of the design process.”
