Contract Industrial Designer

Industrial Design Consultancy has an opportunity for a Contract Industrial Designer to join their team.

You
Working alongside the Head of Industrial Design and as part our team of designers, engineers, and model makers you will add to our creative problem solving abilities in delivering effective designs solutions.
Our ideal candidate is highly motivated and passionate about the creation of exceptional products, enjoys the challenge of working in a collaborative environment and possess an appetite for combining problem solving, with a sensitivity to user needs and excellent visual skills.
It is in the nature of our business that you will be able to see projects from concept to production and must be able to support the design process from end to end and champion the design intent throughout.
Fluency with a pencil and sketchbook, 2D and 3D software is an absolute must.

Specific Skills
A relevant Industrial Design degree.
1-3 Years experience in a product design consultancy or large in-house design team. Creative, self motivated team member with strong communications skills.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines whist maintaining quality and attention to detail. A keen interest in current trends in design, lifestyle, technology and manufacturing processes.
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong 3D skills in at least one of the following: Rhino, V-Ray, Concepts Unlimited, Solid Works or ProE.

Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer (Permanent)

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate mechanical engineer who can work as part of a team of industrial designers, engineers, and modelmakers looking to apply creative and analytical problem solving skills for delivering effective technical designs.

Working closely with our team, your work would include detailed design and CAD modeling (ProEngineer/Solidworks), engineering analysis, liaison with suppliers, prototype testing, and presentation of the designs solutions to clients.

Requirements:

· A recent (2009/2010) 1st or 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering
· Creative problem solving with an aptitude for researching and applying different technologies
· Strong analytical skills including performing engineering calculations
· Having a keen, pro-active and flexible approach for our fast moving and challenging projects
· Good presentation and communication skills
· CAD modeling and preferably software skills
